Hey world! Me again here for post two on this lovely Wednesday! Here we go!
So, the day before yesterday I finished a book with the title Enders by Lissa Price. Isn't that cool? Her first name has two Ses! Anyways, this is the sequel to her debut novel, Starters, which has been published in an amazing amount of countries, and I believe Enders is in multiple countries as well. Over to the left is the US cover. Or one of them anyway. I think, but I'm not sure, that this is where the story ends. It doesn't seem set up for another. But there are a few novellas set in this world!
Summaryish: A few months after the destruction of Prime Destinations, Callie and her brother are living in a mansion they inherited from Callie's Ender renter. But her chip is a target of the Old Man, because it's different - she has the ability to be aware while someone else is controlling her body. And she has the ability to kill. Determined to find answers and truth, Callie begins rescuing Metals off the streets. But everyone has secrets. And some might cost her her life. I think I'm getting better at summarizing. It only took a little over two years!
Review: I was really looking forward to this sequel, and Ms. Price did not disappoint! This story is full of action and suspense and questions and answers, and all these things fit together like a perfectly measured double-sided jigsaw puzzle. The mysteries draw you in, and the plot twists keep you there! Questions, answers, and just the right amount of tension. It's seemingly flawless! A definite add to you to-read-list book! And more than just the story, the characters are wonderful too! You can really get to know and like them. Two thumbs up! That's a compliment here in the United States, not an insult.
About the cover:
I like this cover much better than I liked the one for Starters (I got the creepy white-face copy.) The color scheme and the picture of the flawless girl makes much more sense than an albino with two differently colored eyes.
Okay, see you next week. Is it just me, or is this post really short? Must be the small intro.
