Good afternoon world! Lovely to see you! I'm really excited about today's post because it combines all my favorite book topics! Aliens, survival and bad guys! Woo! We'll talk more about that in a paragraph or two. What else should I say in this my introductory paragraph? I don't know! So let's move on!
So, less than ten minutes ago, I turned the last page of this book called POD by Stephen Wallenfels and, seeing it was the About the Author, realized it was done. I was really sad about that. I'm also sad that I can't find Stephen's website. So I don't know if it's a series or not. I hope it is. But anyway, I know you're just dying to purchase this book, so I would suggest clicking here for the Amazon link.
Summaryish: Where to begin? How about with aliens descending from space, or at least their spaceships, and zapping every human in sight with beams of light! All the other humans who survived the initial attack are then forced to remain indoors. Twelve year old Megs struggles to survive in a parking garage, and fifteen/sixteen year old Josh with his father and rapidly diminishing rations in their home. That's all I can say...
Review: Snap! This book was riveting! From the first page, it's impossible to put down! I loved it so much! Hours can vanish in what feels like seconds while reading this fast-paced, action-packed, miracle of a book! No, I'm not exaggerating. Well, maybe a little. It's not quite a miracle, it doesn't change your life that much, but it makes you think about what limits you would break to survive. And that's all I have to say.
Words to the Characters:
Josh: I formally challenge you to a game of Scrabble.
Megs: I'm not really a cat person, I'm more of a bird person.
Ummm....yeah, nothing else to say is coming to mind. See you later!
